New Board Members
The Board of Directors welcomed four new members to
the Board in January 2010:
Steve A. Bobick
Is the President of UtiliTech, Inc. in West Lawn. His experience
includes 23 years in the computer industry. Steve is a former partner in
Professional Computer Solutions (PCS), a business enterprise that owned
and operated three ComputerLand stores in Reading, Allentown, and
Wilkes-Barre, PA. He has led UtiliTech to become a formidable
telecommunications and utility bill auditing company that has enjoyed slow
and steady growth over its 18 years. Steve has personally overseen
thousands of audits for commercial and not-for-profit enterprises as well
as state, county, and local municipalities. He received a Bachelor of
Science degree from Lycoming College with a major in mathematics and
minors in business and accounting. Steve is a part of the Berks Business
Education Coalition and the Pennsylvania School Board Association. His
professional associations include Board Chairman for The Highlands at
Wyomissing, Board Director Greater Reading Area Chamber of Commerce &
Industry, Board Director South Mountain YMCA, as well as Vice Chairman of
the Infrastructure Committee and a member of the IT Advisory Committee for
the Berks Career and Technology Center. Steve and his wife Carmela have a
son Brian, a doctor in California, and a daughter Katie, an elementary
teacher in Pennsylvania.
Joseph DeMarte
Is the owner of Sir Speedy Printing Center in West
Lawn and has been involved in the printing industry since 1976. His
career with Sir Speedy Printing began in 1987 as a manager of the printing
operations. He has volunteered on various committees and boards
throughout his career and has served as a member of the Greater Reading
Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Small Business Committee for 18 years.
He has been a member of the Printing/Graphic Arts Committee at the Berks
Career and Technology Center for many years. Joe has also volunteered as a
coach for little league baseball, soccer, and basketball. He currently
serves on the Board of the Wyomissing Basketball Club and is a member of
the Wyomissing Area Education Foundation and the Wyomissing All Sports
Award Committee. Joe recently received the Century Club Award, placing
his business in an elite group of Sir Speedy franchises worldwide. This
award recognizes 100 of the top franchises in the entire network for
outstanding sales achievement in 2008.
Liz Egner
Is a Realtor and Associate Broker for Re/Max of Reading. She was
previously a teacher in the Conrad Weiser School District, was the
Assistant Director of the federally funded environmental study program,
and coached varsity field hockey and junior varsity basketball. Liz
originated the elementary physical education curriculum for the Conrad
Weiser School District and conducted in-service education courses for the
teachers of the Schuylkill County Intermediate Unit. She served as
Director of the Reading-Berks Association of Realtors and received a Top
Pro Realtor Award. Liz’s education includes a Bachelor of Science degree
from East Stroudsburg University and a Masters degree in Education from
Millersville University. Liz is a member of the National Association of
Realtors, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, and Reading Berks
Association of Realtors. She is also a Board Director for TREND.
Thomas Hubric
Has been the President of Reading-Berks HR
Management since 2004 including all aspects of HR consulting, specializing
in not-for-profits. He was previously the Director of HR and Operations
for The Highlands at Wyomissing overseeing all HR and operations
functions. Tom is a graduate of Alvernia College with a Bachelor of
Science degree in business and also earned a Master of Business
Administration from Kutztown University.
